Poetry for Neanderthals^*

Poetry for Neanderthals is a party game from Exploding Kittens in which you may describe words using only single-syllable words. Use anything longer and you get bopped on the head with the inflatable NO! Stick and lose points. For 2 to 12 players aged 7 and up, about 15 minutes.

How it plays

Teams take turns. The current Poet draws a card and has 90 seconds to get their team to guess the word – but only in one-syllable speech: "broccoli" becomes "green thing you eat for live long". Each card carries an easy word worth one point and a hard one worth three. The other team listens closely and swings the stick at every slip.

Who is it for?

Families, flat-share evenings and big groups that want to laugh. The rules fit on a card, the speech restriction turns every clue into comedy, and 220 cards keep the laughs coming for many nights.
