Timeline: Inventions^*

Timeline: Inventions is a quick card game for 2 to 8 players in which you place 55 inventions – from the wheel to the mobile phone – in correct chronological order. A round takes about 15 minutes, and children from age 8 can join in, because it is less about exact knowledge than about a good feel for what came before what.

How it plays

Each card shows an invention on the front and its year on the back. On your turn you place a card from your hand into the growing timeline on the table – to the left, to the right or between the cards already there. Then flip it: if the position is right, the card stays. If not, it leaves the game and you draw a new one. The first player to get rid of all their cards wins.

Who is it for?

Timeline is a perfect closer and family game: explained in two minutes, carried anywhere in its small tin, and fully compatible with every other title in the series. If you enjoy quiz and party games but hate dry trivia, this is the one.
