Who is Ted Alspach anyway?
Ted Alspach has been designing dice, card & board games since 2005. The game designer hails from New York City, New York, USA🇺🇸, was born in 1968 and currently lives in Louisville, Tennessee, USA🇺🇸.
Alspach's first game was the "Bay Area" expansion for "Age of Steam." He developed it in 2005 at the age of 37 - so Ted Alspach has been designing games for over 19 years. Famous Alspach games include Castles of Mad King Ludwig, Suburbia & many titles of the Werwolf-Series.
Marketing studies
He studied Bachelor of Science in Marketing at Messiah College in Grantham, Pennsylvania, USA🇺🇸. During his time there, he founded and published a school magazine which he funded through local advertisements.
Career start in the IT industry
After graduating, he worked for various graphics and desktop publishing companies (e.g. Corel, Adobe). Along the way, he also published various articles in IT magazines (MacAddict and Macworld) and wrote entire books (such as "Adobe Illustrator For Dummies"). Alspach published 18 books over the course of his 20 years as an IT guy.
From 1999 to 2006, Alspach worked at Adobe as Group Product Manager for Illustrator and the Creative Suite.
2006: start board game company on the side!
Alspach's experience in the game industry began with the release of several expansions for Age of Steam. Then in 2006 he founded Bézier Games, the first release was "Start Player". In 2013, he renounced the IT industry completely and since then has been dedicated only to the board game world.
In addition to serving as CEO of Bézier Games, Inc, Alspach continues to design new games and oversee and develop titles by other designers.
Alspach's games range from social deduction and party-games to medium-heavy strategy-games. He has carved out a unique niche with werewolf-themed games, from Ultimate Werewolf to Werewords to the Silver Series.
