The best board games that you can play alone (Solitaire games) 2024

It's not always easy to find teammates and then get them to the same table on the same night. Fortunately, many games have special rules that make board games playable for 1 person alone. Some games are even designed for one player (e.g. Friday or Hostage Negotiator - we have created a separate list for these games: The best games you can play only alone).

Some games go a different way and include a solo campaign or a so-called automa opponent, which is controlled (semi-)automatically by special game rules (e.g. Scythe or Wingspan).

Solo games are many, for example from the strategy board games for 1 person, card games for one, logic games for 1, solo dice games, single-player board games with story and many more single-player board games.

Want games with a different number of players?

You can play board games, card games and dice games with a very different number of players - even alone. We have created many lists for each exact number of players and for varying numbers of players. You can find our "by player count" lists below.
