The Best Board Games Winning the Spielerpreis at Hobbymesse Leipzig 2024🇩🇪 2026
The audience award of the Leipzig Hobby Fair, the “Spielerpreis der Hobbymesse Leipzig 2024”, is a newly introduced prize in 2024 that honors board games which stand out through both their visual design and overall gameplay experience. As the successor to the popular Graf Ludo award, this public vote places the decision directly in the hands of the fair’s visitors — making it an especially authentic reflection of what players truly enjoy. Here you’ll find a carefully researched list of the best games that have won or been nominated for this award.
Awarded at the “Hobbymesse Leipzig 2024”
The “modell-hobby-spiel 2024,” hosted by Leipziger Messe, took place from September 20 to 22, 2024 for the 27th time — this time under the new name “Hobbymesse Leipzig 2024.” In the list below, you’ll find all nominations and winners of this prestigious award. Eligible games must have been published in Germany within the two years prior to the award ceremony. This means that only board games released between summer 2020 and summer 2024 in Germany could be considered for the Graf Ludo successor.
The next edition, the 28th Hobbymesse Leipzig, will take place again in Leipzig from October 3 to 5, 2025.
How is the “Spielerpreis der Hobbymesse Leipzig” awarded?
The “Spielerpreis der Hobbymesse Leipzig” was presented for the first time in 2024 as an audience award. All publishers represented at the fair were eligible to participate and could nominate up to two games each. During the fair, from September 20 to 22, 2024, visitors had the opportunity to try out these games on site and vote online for their favorites. A total of 34 games took part in the competition. The game with the most votes was announced as the winner on the final day of the event.
